London, New York – June 17, 2021 — Bloomberg Media continues to expand its talent roster on Quicktake, the global streaming and social news network for a new generation of leaders, and today announced the signing of award-winning British broadcaster and journalist Emma Barnett to host a weekly interview show launching in the fall.

Emma Barnett is a renowned broadcast presenter currently hosting “Woman’s Hour” on BBC Radio 4 and presenting on “Newsnight” on BBC Two. She will continue with both roles, in addition to fronting the new show on Bloomberg Quicktake. Previously, she worked as the women’s editor of The Daily Telegraph – where she founded and created the popular digital women’s section – and prior to that, she was the paper’s digital media editor, covering technology and media.

Barnett’s new Quicktake show will feature interviews with the biggest newsmakers influencing the global conversation. The show focuses on what the future holds across business, health care, technology and climate change. Viewers can expect intimate, organic conversations led by Barnett, who is known for her agenda-setting interviews and signature style.

“I’m delighted to be developing this new program on Bloomberg Quicktake and look forward to sitting down with leading voices who are shaping the future. The new show will explore the motivations and challenges guests have faced during their careers and provide insight into their lives and aspirations,” commented Barnett.

Bloomberg Quicktake launched in 2017 as the first 24/7 global, social video news network in partnership with Twitter, bringing trusted insight to the speed of social media. Since then it has expanded to deliver social-first video across all social media platforms. It launched a streaming news channel in November 2020 with 10.5 hours of daily original programming. The network’s coverage serves a new generation of business leaders and professionals who are building for the future in both their careers and their lives.

“Emma’s brilliance and interview expertise will bring great energy to the Bloomberg Quicktake network,” said Justin B. Smith, CEO of Bloomberg Media. “Quicktake covers the future of business, and Emma’s new program will add global perspective and address critical issues with some of the world’s biggest newsmakers.”

In April 2021, Quicktake announced its upcoming 2021 primetime show lineup, including Chris Paul’s “How I Got Here,” Imran Amed’s “The Business of Fashion” (working title), Scott Galloway’s “The Prof G Show” and Francine Lacqua’s “Morning, Noon & Night.” Alongside these original primetime programs and other shows featuring Quicktake correspondents Scarlet Fu, Jason Kelly, Mady Mills, Kurumi Mori, Tim Stenovec, Ashlee Vance and Jennifer Zabasajja, Quicktake will continue delivering breaking news and insights throughout the day, following the successful launch of the streaming channel which has over 10.7 million average monthly viewers.
