Bloomberg News Wins 2025 Gerald Loeb Awards in Feature and Visual Storytelling Categories


NEW YORK (Oct. 10, 2025) – Bloomberg News won two 2025 Gerald Loeb Awards, one of the most prestigious honors in business journalism. Bloomberg won for “The Egg” in the feature category and for “AI Data Centers Wreak Havoc on Energy Grids and Power Quality” in the visual storytelling category.

Bloomberg Businessweek’s “The Egg” investigates the global fertility industry and trade of human eggs. The Loeb award recognizes Natalie Obiko Pearson, Jessica Brice, Susan Berfield, Vernon Silver, Kanoko Matsuyama, Cindy Wang, Sinduja Rangarajan and Fani Nikiforaki.

In “AI Data Centers Wreak Havoc on Energy Grids and Power Quality” and “AI Needs So Much Power It’s Making Yours Worse,” Bloomberg details how quickly AI data centers are straining power supply. The award honors Leonardo Nicoletti, Josh Saul, Naureen Malik, Andre Tartar, Saritha Rai, Dina Bass, Ian King, Jennifer Duggan, Seth Fiegerman, Chloe Whiteaker and Millie Munshi.

Bloomberg News received nine finalist nominations in six categories.
