Bloomberg Media will serve as a major sponsor and media partner of the “2021 Boston Pops July 4th Spectacular Concert.” Hosted by Bloomberg’s Alix Steel, Romaine Bostick, Janet Wu, and Joe Shortsleeve, the broadcast will air live on Bloomberg Television and Bloomberg Radio on Sunday, July 4 at 8PM ET. The program will also live-stream on Bloomberg.com and Bloomberg Quicktake.

To best ensure the health and safety of everyone involved, the concert will take place at Tanglewood this year, with Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart leading a televised performance of patriotic favorites. The concert will be followed by a live fireworks finale from the Boston Common, bringing the special’s closing portion back to the city that has presented the event since 1974.

“We are proud to once again bring the iconic special to our valued audience,” said Al Mayers, Global Head of Bloomberg Television and Radio. “Serving as the first in-person performance at Tanglewood since the summer of 2020, the concert will be a celebration as conditions around the pandemic continue to improve.”

The event will also include appearances by Jon Batiste, winner of the Academy Award for Best Original Score for the Pixar film “Soul,” Grammy-nominated musician, television personality, and bandleader of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and Mavis Staples —the legendary R&B, soul, and gospel singer, civil rights activist, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner, and Kennedy Center honoree.

Additionally, the Six-String Soldiers of the U.S. Army Field Band, the most-followed military music group in the world, and members of the United States Air Force Band’s Singing Sergeants, the official chorus of the USAF and the first premier military chorus to enlist women, will be featured in small ensemble and choral selections during the evening’s performance.

The “2021 Boston Pops July 4th Spectacular Concert” will air on Bloomberg Television (available on cable/satellite and streaming services), and Bloomberg Radio on Sunday, July 4, 8-11 PM ET. It will also live-stream on Bloomberg.com and Bloomberg Quicktake. The show will simulcast locally on Boston’s WHDH-TV on July 4, 8-11 PM.
