“Bloomberg Investigates” Wins Outstanding Short Documentary at 46th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards


New York (June 27, 2025) – The 46th News and Documentary Emmy Awards, presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, has awarded Bloomberg Originals an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Short Documentary for its Bloomberg Investigates piece onThe Dirty Business of Monkey Laundering.The story explores a U.S. government agency investigation on the importation of wild monkeys from Cambodia to research labs, with the use of false paperwork. Bloomberg Investigates, which uncovers some of the most powerful stories from around the world, also announced its upcoming fifth season this week.

This is the second Emmy win for Bloomberg Originals at this week’s awards, after The Future with Hannah Fry, won on the award ceremony’s first night in the Outstanding Science and Technology Coverage category for Quantum Arms Race.” Other Bloomberg Originals series include The Circuit and Posthuman, both hosted by Emily Chang, An Optimist’s Guide to the Planet with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Season 2 debuting later this year), Momentum with Haslinda Amin and more.
