Bloomberg and iHeartPodcasts Launch “The Sixth Bureau,” A New Investigative Podcast

The series debuts on February 13, listen to the official trailer and first two episodes here

New York – February 13, 2026 – Bloomberg and iHeartPodcasts today announced the launch of The Sixth Bureau, a new investigative podcast examining China’s global campaign to acquire intellectual property from Western technology and manufacturing firms. Hosted by Bloomberg’s Drake Bennett and Jordan Robertson, the series debuts  February 13 in The Big Take, Bloomberg’s daily podcast.

For years, U.S. officials have claimed the Chinese government engaged in a global campaign to acquire intellectual property from foreign rivals. At the center of those allegations is China’s intelligence agency, the Ministry of State Security. The Sixth Bureau follows an MSS intelligence officer on a mission to obtain the crown jewels of American aerospace companies. Using aliases, blackmail, and the occasional break-in, he targeted some of the world’s biggest corporate giants.

Through undercover recordings, insider accounts, and in-depth reporting, The Sixth Bureau reveals a story of superpowers, their secrets, and how one Chinese spy was ultimately caught. This story is also based on a 2022 Bloomberg Businessweek feature reported by Bennett and Robertson.

The Sixth Bureau is available beginning February 13 on the iHeartRadio app, Bloomberg.com, and wherever podcasts are available. Bloomberg produces over 30 podcasts, offering smart analysis, timely insights, and compelling storytelling across business, finance, economics, politics, technology, healthcare, sports, and more. All Bloomberg podcasts are distributed by iHeartPodcasts.
