New York City Subway system
Charlie Pellett is a veteran news anchor and reporter for Bloomberg Radio. He is based in New York City.
In addition to handling daily news and business reports for WBBR Radio and its affiliates, Pellett has co-hosted a Friday night call-in show with former New York City Mayor Ed Koch, anchors a daily Bloomberg stock market update for KING-TV in Seattle and actively contributes to other Bloomberg media platforms including Bloomberg.com and podcasts.
Pellett joined Bloomberg in 1992, serving as a member of the original Bloomberg Radio and Bloomberg Television anchor teams. Before joining Bloomberg, Pellett spent a decade at 1010 WINS in New York City. He also worked as a news writer for CNN and as a disc jockey in Northampton, MA.
Pellett’s voice has been designated as the official “voice” of the New York City subway system. Every day, riders can hear him imploring them to “stand clear of the closing doors.” Pellett holds a bachelor’s degree in communications studies from the University of Massachusetts.
