Dubai, UAE. Bloomberg Television today announced Yousef Gamal El-Din has joined the network as the Dubai-based anchor of Bloomberg Markets: Middle East, the channel’s new, primetime morning show focusing on the cross-section between the region’s politics, markets, economies and companies.
Gamal El-Din will co-anchor the hour-long programme with Rishaad Salamat in Hong Kong and Anna Edwards in London. He will also be joined on air by Tracy Alloway, Executive Editor of Bloomberg Markets, who contributes to the programme from Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Bloomberg Markets: Middle East airs at 8am in the UAE Sundays through Thursdays, from Bloomberg’s new studio in the heart of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). It aims to bridge the gap between Asia and Europe’s trading days, looking at the most important business, economic and financial issues shaping global markets, with a focus on the Middle East.
Recent guests have included Khalid Abdullah Al Hussan, CEO Tadawul; Tim Clark, President Emirates Airlines; and Anas Al-Saleh, Deputy Prime Minister, Kuwait.
The new show forms part of the recently-announced expansion of Bloomberg’s media offering in the Middle East with its suite of new, regionally-focused editorial platforms to serve the growing audience of business and financial news consumers based, or interested in the region. In addition to the new studio and television programme, Bloomberg has launched a dedicated digital destination Bloomberg.com/MiddleEast.
Gamal El-Din and Alloway will also serve as key faces at major Bloomberg events in the region including the Bloomberg Markets Most Influential summit, a major new conference designed to bring together the Middle East’s most influential leaders in business and finance which will be held for the first time in Abu Dhabi in December.
Bloomberg Markets: Middle East is also streamed live on Bloomberg.com, and available via the TVfunction on the Bloomberg Terminal to the more than 325,000 subscribers to the Bloomberg Professional service globally.
