Bloomberg Television to Present Special Live Coverage Anchored by David Westin

On Tuesday January 30, TicToc by Bloomberg (@tictoc), the first and only global news network built for Twitter, will bring live coverage of President Trump’s first State of the Union address to Twitter with special reporting from Joe Weisenthal, Bloomberg Markets editor, and Craig Gordon, Bloomberg News Washington Bureau Chief.

In advance of the address, which begins at 9 pm ET, TicToc will kick off live coverage on Twitter at 8:45 pm ET with Joe Weisenthal and Craig Gordon, to provide a real-time distillation of conversations taking place on Twitter, and a round-up of key facts and Tweets that will be verified and curated by Bloomberg. The hosts will provide real-time updates, while engaging with Twitter users via #tictocnews, taking questions and commenting on notable Tweets.

Throughout the livestream of the address, TicToc will summarize major themes, pull in live contextual information, and provide sentiment analysis of Tweets based on data from social analytics company, Crimson Hexagon, so viewers can quickly get smart on the social commentary around the news. Following the address, Joe Weisenthal and Craig Gordon will recap key highlights and reactions based on the Democratic response.

On Bloomberg Television, David Westin will anchor a separate live special coverage from 9 pm ET to 11 pm ET. Reporting from Bloomberg’s Washington bureau, David will be joined by Margaret Talev, Bloomberg Senior White House Correspondent and President of the White House Correspondents Association; Marty Schenker, Bloomberg Chief Content Officer; John Feehery, Republican strategist; and Steve McMahon, Democratic strategist. In addition, Bloomberg’s Chief White House Correspondent Kevin Cirilli and National Political Reporter Sahil Kapur will provide reporting from Capitol Hill.
