The Businessweek Show Premieres Tonight on Bloomberg Originals

New late-night series spotlights ideas at the intersection of pop culture and business

October 12, 2023 – “The Businessweek Show,” a new late night talk show about money, culture and business – “pop business” – premieres tonight on Bloomberg Originals at 8:30pm EST, followed by Bloomberg TV at 10:30pm EST.

Hosted by Bloomberg journalist and longtime Bloomberg Businessweek contributor Max Abelson, each episode takes the audience inside the themes and motivations behind Bloomberg Businessweek stories, featuring conversations with smart and curious guests. In the first episode, “What Does It Mean to Be A Genius?” Abelson sits down with US economist and author of A Random Walk Down Wall Street Burt Malkiel, American space scientist and MacArthur Fellow winner Moriba K. Jah, and winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee Zaila Avant-garde.

“Using the magazine as inspiration, The Businessweek Show captures the zeitgeist of the business world while making it more accessible to everyone through candid conversations with guests, and a laid back conversational feel,” said Joel Weber, editor of Bloomberg Businessweek.

“Viewers will hear from complicated and profound people about their careers, ideas and lives – and about their ambition, their jealousy, their risks, their failures and their imagination,” added Abelson.

The ten-episode series airs weekly on Thursdays on Bloomberg Originals. Bloomberg Originals programming streams on the Bloomberg app on Connected TV (CTV) devices such as Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs, and Android TV and is also available via Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Amazon’s news app on Fire TV, The Roku Channel, Tubi and VIZIO WatchFree+. The programming also broadcasts during select primetime and weekend time slots on Bloomberg TV and BTV+ and streams on Bloomberg.com.
