New York and Mexico City, July 20, 2017 – El Financiero, a subsidiary of Grupo Multimedia Lauman, and Bloomberg L.P. today announced the launch of Bloomberg Businessweek México, a Spanish-language, bi-weekly edition of the award-winning magazine. With significant contributions of local content from Mexico-based Bloomberg News and El Financiero journalists, Bloomberg Businessweek México will contain the information, context, and analysis of the global businesses, technologies, and economic decisions most relevant to Mexico – currently and looking ahead to the future.
Founded in 1929, and recently relaunched in June, Bloomberg Businessweek delivers the most comprehensive global business and finance content of any magazine brand, across multiple platforms, to help senior executives make smarter and more informed decisions. The brand has a global circulation of 1.5 million with English-language editions published weekly in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and additional local language editions available in Turkey, the Middle East, Hong Kong, China, and Indonesia. Bloomberg Businessweek México is the first Spanish-language edition of the magazine to be produced.
“We are delighted to partner with Bloomberg Businessweek to launch what we believe will be the foremost business and finance magazine in Mexico,” said Enrique Quintana, editor-in-chief of El Financiero. “Mexicans remain hungry for trust-worthy, unbiased, intelligent, and entertaining business journalism that will keep them a step ahead and that is exactly what Bloomberg Businessweek México, backed jointly by our accomplished teams of reporters, will provide.”
“As one of the fastest-growing large economies in the world, Mexico is a critical market for Bloomberg,” said Megan Murphy, editor of Bloomberg Businessweek. “We believe readers in Mexico will be very receptive to the brand of business and finance journalism Businessweek provides: unique, immersive, ground-up story-telling that takes them inside the companies, products, governments, and trends that matter most, backed by a clean, powerful design. We are confident El Financiero is the perfect partner in this endeavor.”
