New York (May 28, 2026) – The 47th News and Documentary Emmy Awards, presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, has awarded Bloomberg two Emmy awards for its Originals series Bloomberg Primer in the category of Outstanding Cold Open or Title Sequence: News and to Bloomberg Investigates for Outstanding Business, Consumer or Economic Coverage.
In its Emmy Award-winning episode, “How New Magnets Could Power the Future,” the Bloomberg Originals series Bloomberg Primer explores how scientists are developing ever-more powerful magnets to enable clean energy sources like fusion, while China’s dominance of the supply chain for rare-earth magnets threatens their global availability. Bloomberg Primer cuts through the complex jargon to reveal the business behind technologies poised to transform global markets and offers a comprehensive look at the “impossible” industries vying to shape our future.

The Emmy Award-winning episode of the Bloomberg Originals series Bloomberg Investigates, “The Zombie Debts Making Wall Street Rich,” examines how a hidden housing crisis is sweeping the US as debt collectors revive forgotten mortgages to seize homes. Bloomberg reporters uncover how outdated laws and predatory tactics have left millions at risk. This is the second Emmy Award win and fourth nomination for Bloomberg Investigates, an acclaimed series dedicated to uncovering the truth behind some of the world’s most powerful stories.

The Bloomberg documentary Can’t Look Away: The Case Against Social Media, earned a nomination for Outstanding Business and Economic Documentary category, with the winner to be announced on the second night of the Emmys. Based on Bloomberg News’ investigative reporting by Olivia Carville and directed by Matthew O’Neill and Perri Peltz, Can’t Look Away exposes the real-world consequences of tech companies’ digital practices and widespread concerns over harmful algorithms. Can’t Look Away is produced by DCTV for Bloomberg Originals and Bloomberg Businessweek Films.
Other nominations for Bloomberg Originals include The Circuit with Emily Chang (Season 5 debuting June 3), Leaders with Francine Lacqua (Season 2 debuting this fall), among others. Last year’s Emmy wins include The Future with Hannah Fry, “Quantum Arms Race,” for the category of Outstanding Science and Technology Coverage and Bloomberg Investigates, “The Dirty Business of Monkey Laundering” for Outstanding Short Documentary.
