Bloomberg Television Debuts New Morning Show “Daybreak Asia” Featuring Global Co-Hosts

Building on the network’s strategy to deliver 24 continuous hours of global business and financial news, “Daybreak Asia” anchors join from New York and Hong Kong

New York & Hong Kong, June 21, 2016 — Bloomberg today announced the launch of “Daybreak Asia,” a new morning television program delivering viewers the most pressing global business and financial information they need as U.S. markets close and Asian markets open.

Betty Liu, Ramy Inocencio, Su Keenan and Kathleen Hays will anchor the show in New York, with Angie Lau, Yvonne Man, Rosalind Chin, Haidi Lun and Shery Ahn in Hong Kong. “Daybreak Asia” replaces “First Up,” airing weekdays from 7-9 am HKT in Asia and on Sunday evenings from 7-9 pm ET in the United States.

“Over the past year, our mission at Bloomberg TV has been to align our sophisticated programming and unparalleled journalistic resources around the world to create the #1 business and financial television network,” said Al Mayers, Head of Bloomberg TV and Radio. “The combination of anchors in New York and Hong Kong will tremendously enhance our coverage of global markets, and deliver to our viewers the essential news and information they need to start or close their business day.”

As global financial journalists, the “Daybreak Asia” team has interviewed top business leaders and influencers from around the world. For example, Betty Liu has interviewed Warren Buffett, Bill Clinton, Carlos Slim, Jamie Dimon, Elon Musk and many others.

In addition to having top business and financial guests on the show, the anchors will offer insight into the latest news and movements in global markets. Daybreak is part of Bloomberg’s multi-platform effort to provide customers and on-the-go business decision makers the data, breaking news, analysis and insight they need to start their day regardless of where they are in the world. Daybreak Asia is the broadcast/digital video extension of Bloomberg’s Daybreak morning briefing for Bloomberg Terminal customers.
