Bloomberg New Voices Launches Third Year of Media Training for Black Executives with Event in New York

On Monday, Bloomberg New Voices launched its third year of media training for senior Black executives in business and finance with a celebration at Bloomberg’s global headquarters in New York City.

The in-person event featured a conversation with Reggie Browne, Principal at GTS, moderated by Bloomberg’s Scarlet Fu on how exchange-traded funds are revolutionizing asset management. Eric Balchunas, Senior ETF Analyst at Bloomberg and co-host of the Bloomberg podcast “Trillions,” also joined the discussion, which will be the subject of an upcoming “Trillions” episode.

In a Q & A with New Voices Founder Laura Zelenko, Bloomberg’s Renita Young also discussed her radio show, “Black Business Beat,” which looks at the latest trends among Black-owned businesses, diversity in the workforce, the business of entertainment, and more.

Bloomberg launched New Voices in 2018 to increase the representation of women and minority executives as sources in both online and on-air content. The program sponsors intensive media training for female executives in business and finance worldwide and Black and Latinx executives of all gender identities in the U.S.

Since the program began, more than 300 executives have participated in the media training, which has taken place in New York, Toronto, San Francisco, Washington D.C., London, Johannesburg, Mumbai, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney. In 2022, the program will also include training in Zurich and Tokyo.
