The Bloomberg New Voices program provides intensive, one-on-one media training for women and underrepresented executives in the business and finance sectors. The initiative was created in 2018 to improve the representation of women and diverse voices as sources in the media industry.

Speaking at the event, Laura Zelenko said, “We have to bring more female experts into our coverage. We have to bring more ethnically and racially diverse experts into our coverage. We have to work harder to identify and surface more under-represented experts in business and finance who haven’t had access to financial media and let their views be heard.”

The percentage of on-air female guests on Bloomberg TV has more than tripled to 34% since the program’s inception in 2018. More than 470 executives worldwide have received media training through New Voices, and the program has created a global database of female sources that now totals more than 8,400.

In May, New Voices program returns to London before launching in Frankfurt the same month. Learn more about New Voices, how to apply, and sign up for the New Voices mailing list at bloomberg.com/newvoices.
