Bloomberg Announces the Return of Podcasts “The Pay Check,” “Prognosis,” and “Foundering” for New Seasons

Bloomberg today announced that new seasons of three original podcasts — “The Pay Check,” “Prognosis” and “Foundering” — are set to debut later this spring.

The third season of “The Pay Check” will bring on Jackie Simmons, Bloomberg News’ Senior Executive Editor of the Americas, who will co-host the show alongside Rebecca Greenfield, Team Leader, Equality, to dig into the yawning racial wealth gap in the U.S., how we got to where we are today and what can be done to narrow the gap. The season kicks off on Thursday, March 11 with a personal story about land Jackie’s family acquired some time after slavery which they’ve essentially lost. From there, the series explores all the ways the wealth gap manifests and solutions, like affirmative action, quotas, and reparations, that can potentially level the playing field.

Bloomberg’s healthcare podcast “Prognosis” is returning with “Doubt,” a new season that traces the rise of vaccine skepticism in America to show how we got here — and where we’re going. Hosted by Bloomberg health reporter Kristen V. Brown, the show will debut on Tuesday, March 23. Previous seasons of “Prognosis” explored innovation in medical technologies, America’s broken healthcare system, superbugs, and Covid-19.

Every season, “Foundering” brings listeners inside a different high-stakes drama from Silicon Valley and around the world, where companies are wielding unprecedented capital and power. The second season of “Foundering: The TikTok Story” is hosted by tech reporter and New York Bureau Chief Shelly Banjo. The podcast focuses on TikTok’s unusual founding story, its uncertain future after becoming the target of President Trump, and whether the American social media ecosystem will be able to keep up with this Chinese-owned app. The season will air weekly beginning Thursday, April 22.
