Bloomberg News Wins Two Scripps Howard Journalism Awards


Bloomberg News won two honors at the 73rd Scripps Howard Journalism Awards, which recognize outstanding reporting and are one of the nation’s most prestigious journalism competitions.

Zombie Debt” won in the Excellence in Business/Financial Reporting category for revealing how debt collectors violated consumer protection laws in pursuing second mortgages that predated the 2008 financial crisis.

Bloomberg also won the Distinguished Service to the First Amendment category, honoring Edward Willis Scripps, for “A Reporter’s Fight for Public Records,” in which Jason Leopold chronicles efforts to secure access to government information and defend transparency.
