Bloomberg’s “The Future with Hannah Fry” Wins News & Documentary Emmy Award


New York (June 26, 2025) – The 46th News and Documentary Emmy Awards presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has awarded Bloomberg an Emmy for its original series The Future with Hannah Fry in the category of Outstanding Science and Technology Coverage. 

In the Emmy-award winning episode, Quantum Arms Race,” Fry travels to IBM’s research facility to learn the promise and peril of the technology’s unfathomable power. The Future with Hannah Fry follows mathematician and author Hannah Fry who explores emerging technology, science, and people who are on the edge of the most transformative breakthroughs. 

Bloomberg’s series, Bloomberg Investigates, is also nominated for an award in the Outstanding Short Documentary category  for “The Dirty Business of Monkey Laundering,” on the second night of the Emmy ‘s ceremony. 

Bloomberg Originals series include The Circuit and Posthuman, both hosted by Emily Chang, An Optimist’s Guide to the Planet with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Season 2 debuting later this year), Momentum with Haslinda Amin and more.
